KTN, in partnership with University of Brighton, Innovate UK are running a series of online workshops exploring remanufacturing which was estimated at €11.5 billion in 2015 and is expected to continue to grow.
Remanufacturing is defined as “Returning a product to at least its original performance with a warranty that is equivalent to or better than that of the newly manufactured product”. There is a large potential to retain the value of a product beyond its initial lifespan and remanufacturing is one of the key strategies that can enable it. Remanufactured products can also contribute to a positive environmental impact compared to manufacturing from new materials (up to 98% CO2 reduction).
